Subrata: Once hero is now father of actors

As a hero, Subrata started his film career through Mohammad Hannan’s movie Rai Binodini, which was released on January 11 in 1985. Anju Ghosh was her heroine in this movie. But according to Subrata, his acted first movie was Ibne Mizan’s Patal Bijoy, which was released at the end of 1985. Anju was also her
heroine this time. Then Subrata also acted in role of hero in movies Mala Bodol, Maiyar Naam Moina, Sagor Konnya, Pushpo Mala, Harano Sur, Sotota, Tala Chabi, Poisa, Humki, Nag Jyoti, Chondidas Rojokini, among others. Film actress Doyel was his wife, who died in 2011. While acting in Gazi Motiur Rahman directed movie Ghomta a love affair between Subrata and Doyel started. Later, they got married. Film actress of present generation Dighi is their daughter. Subrata, Doyel and Dighi worked together in Kazi Hayat’s movie Kabuliwala. In 2005, he for the first time acted in role of hero’s father in late MB Manik’s movie Durdhorsho. Later, he acted in role of father of heroes and heroines in many movies.
Now Subrata is acting in role of heroine Bubli’s father in Topu Khan directed his debut movie Leader – Ami Bangladesh. He has already finished shooting of Mostafizur Rahman Manik’s film Jao Pakhi Bolo Tare and Mehedi Hasan’s Nodir Jole Shapla. Tungipara’r Miya Bhai was Subrata acted his last released movie where he played the role of Hamid Master. In TV dramas, Subrata is also acting in role of father. His acted first TV drama was Dilip Roy directed Mokkel Monjil. It was first serial of Ekushey TV telecasted in 2001. Now he is acting in Lajuk’s serial Poribar and Dodul directed serial Jomidar Bari.
While talking about film and personal lives Subrata said, “From the beginning of my career, I got loves from the viewers. It was a great achievement for my career. While taking part in shooting of Ghomta, I started to love Doyel. In fact, I felt love to see her eyes. Her cordialness and simplicity attracted me. I miss her every moment in my life. Most of time I got offer to play role of father in TV dramas and films. I also acted in other roles. I always serious to portray my role properly like taking part in shooting of first day.”
