Walton Beach Football kicks-off tomorrow

The Walton Beach Football Tournament kicks-off tomorrow at the Laboni Point in Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach. Cox’s Bazar District Sports Association will arrange the football meet under auspices of Walton.
A total of eight teams splitting into two groups will take part in the first round of the football competition. Malumghat Sports Association, Youngmens Club, Coat Bazar Players Association, Bashkata Players Association have been billed in Group A while National Cox Krira Sangha, Abahani Krira Chakra, Football Club Moheshkhali, Shatadal Club, Ramu have been placed in Group B.
To mark the forthcoming football meet, a press conference was held at the Auditorium of National Sports Council Tower on Thursday.
Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Secretary of National Sports Council Shivnath Roy, Sports Ambassador of Walton Jobera Rahman Linu, General Secretary of Cox’s Bazar District Sports Association Professor Jasim Uddin, Executive Member of Bangladesh Football Federation Bijon Barua, Senior Principal Officer of Walton Mehrab Hossain Asif and Additional General Secretary of Cox’s Bazar District Sports Association Anup Barua were present at the conference.
DC of Cox’s Bazar district Md Ruhul Amin will formally open the five-day long five-a-side football tournament as the chief guest while Police Super of Cox’s Bazar Shyamol Kumar Nath, Senior Principal Officer of Walton Mehrab Hossain Asif will be with him as special guests.
Additional DC and Chairman of the Tournament Committee Md Abdus Sobhan will preside over the inaugural ceremony.
The champions of the meet will be awarded Tk 20,000 while the runners-up of the competition will be given Tk 15,000 as prize-money.
The Player of the Tournament will get home appliance from Walton.
Each participating teams will be given Tk 5,000 as participation money from Cox’s Bazar District Sports Association.
The final will be held on September 24.
