Charge hearing against Hachen begins Sept 22
The International Crimes Tribunal-1 on Monday set September 22 for hearing on charge framing in the war crimes case filed against alleged Razakar Syed M Hassan alias Hachen Ali of Kishoreganj.Responding to a prosecution plea, the tribunal passed the order, appointing advocate A Shukur Khan as state defence counsel for the accused to conduct the case in his absence.
Earlier, after fulfilling the requirement of law for trying a fugitive accused, the three-member tribunal, headed by Justice M Enayetur Rahim, had taken cognisance of the charges brought against war crimes accused Hachen, who remained absconding since filing of the case.
According to the prosecution, the investigator has found Hachen’s involvement in some war crimes incidents at Tarail village in Kishoreganj and the proof of his collaboration with the Pakistan occupation forces as a member of its auxiliary outfit Razakar during the Liberation War in 1971.
