4 killed in road crashes

At least four persons, including three women, were killed and 50 others were injured in separate road crashes on Saturday.
In Gopalganj, at least two women were killed and 15 others injured after a bus they were riding hit a roadside tree in Sadar upazila on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Ramisa Begum, a resident of Chamta village in the upazila, and Shefali Bala, 40, of Mahishtali in Muksudpur upazila, of the district.
Monirul Islam, Officer in-Charge of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station confirmed the news to the media that a bus of ‘Bandhan Paribahan’ hit hard a roadside tree as its driver lost control over the
steering in Bhennabari area around 10:30 am, leaving the two dead on the spot and 15 others injured.
On information, members of Police and Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and rescued the injured.
In Chattogram, a driver was killed and 30 others including seven students of University of Dhaka were injured when a Cox’s Bazar-bound picnic bus carrying students of various education institutions in Dhaka veered off the road and plunged into a ditch on the Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar Highway of Ramu upazila in Chattogram early Saturday.
The identity of the deceased and injured could not be known instantly.
The injured have been admitted to different hospitals in Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar.
In Mymensingh, a pedestrian woman named Begum,60, was killed when a private car hit her on Trishal upazila of the district on Saturday noon.
