DSCC moves to 5-year trade licence renewal

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will soon introduce a five-year trade licence renewal facility to make services easier and more convenient for businesses, Administrator Md Abdus Salam said on Sunday.

He said the corporation was also working to make trade licence renewal and other municipal services faster and digital.

The DSCC has positively considered a proposal for five-year trade licence renewal, with an official decision expected soon, Abdus Salam said.

He made the remarks while addressing a discussion meeting on “Local Business and Commerce, Law and Order, Human Rights Development and Trade Licence Services” organised by the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) in the capital.

“We are working to make the trade licence renewal process easier, faster and digital,” he said.

The DSCC administrator said the corporation wanted to provide trade licence services through mutual understanding and cooperation with the business community rather than through force or harassment.
He said necessary measures were being taken to allow businesses to renew trade licences and pay holding taxes and other municipal taxes from home through digital services.
