Furniture industry turns new changes recently : Mayor

City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin said Bangladesh acquires a better position in world economy index and incomes in exports sector by exporting foods, RMG products and pharmaceutical products as well as furniture exports stand at good positions . He said a new change is being witnessing in furniture industry now with radical changes.
He said furniture industry can play vital role to upgrade the economy of the country. City Mayor disclosed it while inaugurating the 10th furniture fair in the port city at GEC convention hall on Monday as Chief Guest. The 6 day long fair will be concluded on January 27 last as arranged by the Bangladesh Furniture Industry Owners Association.
Preident of Chattogram divisional unit of the Association Syed ASM Nuruddin presided over it.
President of Chattogram Chamber of Commerce & Industry Mahbubul Alam and the central secretary general of the Association Md. Elias Sarker graced the occasion as special guests. General secretary of Bangladesh Furniture Industry Owners’ Association and convenor of Fair committee Maksudur Rahman demanded separate zone for Furniture industry in World Trade centre for its continuous development.
Among others, joint secretary of Chattogram Divisional unit of the samity MN Azam Khan, Member Secretary of the fair committee Saifuddin Chowdhury Dulal, Haji Shahabuddin, Chairman of Chattogram Events, central Vice President of the committee Mollah Sadaruddin Pinto spoke on the occasion.
