Swechchhasebak League leader stabbed to death

The president of a local unit of Swechchhasebak League was stabbed to death allegedly by rivals in Kolagaon Tek area of Patiya upazila on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Jamal Uddin Akbar, 35, son of late Yasin Miah, president of Kalagaon union Swechchhasebak League.
There had been a long standing dispute between Awami League and its different factions over establishing supremacy in the area, said Md Shafiq, in-charge of Patiya Kalarpool Police outpost.
Locals People said Akbar’s younger brother locked into an altercation with Secchasebok League leader Shahinur in the area around 9 pm.
Over the issue, Shahinur along with his supporters gathered in the area and swooped on Akbar and stabbed him, leaving him critically injured.
Being rescued by locals, the victim was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 10 pm.
