RU students protest attack on fellow

Teachers and students of Rajshahi University Management Studies Department formed a human chain at the university campus and observed class boycotted programme on Tuesday, protesting against at the attack on their fellow students by local Jobo League men, one of the youth front of the ruling Awami League on Monday night. They also demanded exemplary punishment of those perpetrators who beat up their fellows.
On Monday night, a group of local Jubo League men beat up Enamul Hauqe Polash and Sujon Miya, second year students of RU management studies department, in front of Jubo League office at Binodpur, near to the campus, without any cause while the duo students were heading toward to their mess at Binodpur area. The JL men also snatched their mobile phones.
Protesting the incident, about 300 students of the department blocked the entrance of Rabindra Arts Building for one and half hour at 10am on Tuesday. Later at around 12pm, the students of the department formed the human chain in front of the central library of the university where teachers and students of other departments participated.
Addressing the human chain, speakers alleged that though the students were being harassed and attacked by the local men continuously, the university authorities were yet to take any effective action to resist it.
