20 rivers marked rise, 66 fall

Water levels in 20 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 66 stations recorded fall.
Among the 90 monitored water level stations, three river stations have been registered steady, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here on Wednesday.
The Ganges river is in rising state while the Bramaputra-Jamuna, the Padma and Surma-Kushiyara rivers are in falling state.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 9 am yesterday.
A total of 70 millimeters (mm) rainfall was recorded at Chandpur, 48.4 mm at Ramgarh, 54.2 Patuakhali and 47.8 mm at Noakhali.
