Court issues show cause notices to 2 Ctg cops

A Chittagong court on Sunday issued show cause notices to two police officials over submitting a “false report” to it.
Officer-in-Charge Ranjit Kumar Barua and Assistant Sub-inspector Absar Uddin of Pahartali Police Station were also asked to explain it after appearing before the court on October 20, said additional public prosecutor Tuhin Ganguli.
The police report said a complainant and a witness in an extortion case, who were summoned to the court, were not available although they appeared before it, he said.
