Namibia crush Scotland by 9 wkts

Namibia made a promising start in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup as they notched an emphatic nine-wicket victory against Scotland in their Group-A match at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Replying to 159 runs, Namibia completed the winning mission scoring 162 for 1 in 26 overs spurred by the opening pair continuation of 95 runs 15.3 overs between SJ Loftie-Eaton and Niko Davin.
Skipper Zane Green played a powerful struck through cover area in the innings last ball for a boundary to draw the finishing line off a Finlay McCreath delivery.
Opener SJ Loftie-Eaton who was adjudged man of the match, hammered an unbeaten half century of 67 off 78 balls including nine boundaries.
Niko Davin featured 10 boundaries to hit another half century scoring 52 off 34 balls and was caught by Harris Carnegie off Haris Aslam delivery.
On the way to his unbeaten 39 off 42 balls involving five boundaries, Zane Green stayed with SJ Loftie-Eaton for a not out 67 runs in 10.3 overs in the in the 2nd wicket.
Haris Aslam took the only wicket for 23 runs in five overs.
Winning the toss, Scotland opted to bat first and scored 159 for all in 36.3 overs with Owais Shah’s topscoring 39 off 49 balls including six boundaries.
Number-8 H Aslam scored 31 off 32 balls including four boundaries while Mohammad Ghaffar (16 off 24b; 1×4), Cameron Sloman (not out 13 off 30b; 2×4), Ryan Brown (12 off 29b; 1×4) and Finlay McCreath (10 off 19b; 1×4) were the other double figure scorers for the Scottish.
Michael van Lingen captured three wickets for 19 runs in eight overs. SJ Loftie-Eaton, Charl Brits and Warren van Wyk took two wickets each for 13, 36 and 40 runs in 3.3, 8 and 9 overs. Fritz Coetzee took another wicket for 19 runs in five overs.
