3 held in Bagerhat

The district detective police have arrested three people in connection with the murder of a mother, her son and her mother-in-law in Kachua upazila of Bagerhat.

The arrested are residents of the same area and close relatives of one another. Police said the murders were allegedly committed over a dispute involving an extramarital affair.

Police Super Hasan Mohammad Naser Rikabder disclosed the information at a press briefing held at the conference room of the Bagerhat SP’s office on Sunday afternoon.

The arrested are mason Jahidul Islam, son of Majid Hawlader; Asadul Sheikh, son of Sultan Sheikh; and Mohammad Arif Hawlader, alias Babu, son of Barik Hawlader, all from Kachua upazila of Bagerhat.

Police recovered four mobile phones belonging to the deceased from the arrested men.
