Ctg contributes 29 pc of national revenue

The Government t has taken a challenge to realize large amount of revenues from the internal sources in the proposed budget of the current fiscal aimed at achieving the vision of mid income country by 2021 .
This was viewed at the dialogue with the stakeholders on Revenue Dialogue as arranged by the National Board of Revenue at a city hotel in Chittagong yesterday.
Chairman of NBR Nazibur Rahman graced the dialogue as chief guest.
The stakeholders in the dialogue depicted the different complications to implement the mission and vision of the govt such as technical problems in customs automation service, limitations of Chittagong Port , irregularities in land ports and unfairmeans in realizing the duties and taxes.
The speakers in the dialogue and the chief guest said the tune of revenue collections through Chittagong Port and other revenue earning agencies earned which is about 29% of total national revenue income.
 NBR chairman Nazibur Rahman said our slogans are Revenue for public welfare, all policies are peoples friendly and tax payers friendly and business friendly. He said our Prime Minister ‘s vision is to turn the country into mid income country by 2021 and developed country by 2041. As such govt fixed revenue target in current budget is Tk.1,76,370 crores of which 30% share will be realized from Chittagong .
Among others, Chittagong Port Member Jafar Alam, Police commissioner Abdul Jalil Mondol, President of MCCI Khallilur Rahman, Director of Chittagong Metropolitan chamber of commerce Mahbub chowdhury,Ali Hossain Akbar Ali, CCCI leader Mafuzul Hoq shah, General Secretary of C&F Agens Association Altaf Hossain Bachchu also addressed the Revenue Dialogue of NBR.
