‘Plant more saplings to maintain ecological balance’

Religious Affairs Minister Principal Motiur Rahman Tuesday called upon all to plant more saplings both fruits and medicinal and timber bearing ones for maintaining ecological balance and making self-reliant of the rural people.
He made this call at the inaugural ceremony of a week-long “Tree plantation campaign and Tree Fair-2015” at Mymensingh town hall as chief guest this morning.
Department of Forest and Agriculture Extension (DAE) organized the function with the assistance of district administration. With Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Abdul Ahad in the chair, Divisional Forest Officer Gobinda Roy and Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Altabur Rahman also spoke.
Professor of Horticulture Department of Bangladesh Agricultural University Prof. Abdur Rahim presented a key-note paper in the inaugural function.
