No change in fuel prices for Nov
The government has kept retail prices of diesel, octane, petrol and kerosene unchanged for November, retaining the rates introduced in September, according to a notification issued by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division on Thursday.
Under the decision, diesel will sell at Tk135 per litre, octane at Tk165, petrol at Tk160 and kerosene at Tk155 throughout November, starting November 1.
The prices have remained unchanged since September 21, when the government raised the rates of all four fuels by Tk20 per litre amid rising international petroleum prices and higher transportation costs linked to the conflict in the Middle East.
Before the increase, diesel sold at Tk115 per litre, octane at Tk145, petrol at Tk140 and kerosene at Tk135.
The September hike came amid mounting financial pressure on the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), which reported losses of Tk22,876 crore between March and August as international fuel prices and freight costs surged.
