Farooki declines rumour, teases new projects

Rumors that filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha are heading for a split have been circulating for days, with several local and international media outlets reporting on the speculation yesterday.

Dismissing the reports as baseless, Farooki declined to comment on their personal lives and instead shared updates on their upcoming projects.

Asked about the rumors of marital trouble, Farooki said, “False reports and propaganda about me started circulating quite some time ago.

Now, it has turned into personal attacks. But just because something is reported doesn’t make it true. And talking about these rumors would only give them more attention.

So neither Tisha nor I want to comment on the matter. Instead, I’m working on new projects. Let’s talk about those.”

Sharing updates on his recent work, Farooki said he travelled to South Korea on October 10 at the invitation of the Busan International Film Festival, where he spoke about filmmaking.

Before leaving for Busan, he had wrapped up work on a television commercial. After returning to Bangladesh on October 17, he began working on another advertisement.

He has also been developing film projects for some time. After completing the script for one film, he has now started writing another.

Asked about his upcoming films, Farooki said, “I’m writing a new film script. It’s a love story set in a new era-or, you could say, a story about the no-man’s-land that lies somewhere beyond love and friendship.

Or perhaps that, too, is love. It’s about the ever-expanding boundaries of love. For now, I’ve titled it To Hell, with Love.

Meanwhile, Tisha has been keeping busy with her own professional ventures despite the rumors surrounding her personal life. She recently launched a production company called Fullscreen.

On September 28, a drama starring Arosh Khan and Priyontee Urbee premiered on the company’s YouTube channel, also named Fullscreen.

Tisha was contacted several times for comment but did not answer the calls.

When Farooki was contacted again, he explained that she was in a meeting about a potential role in a new international film and was therefore unable to take the calls.

Farooki declined to share further details about the film, saying an official announcement would be made once everything was finalized.
