‘Drugs, gambling won’t be tolerated’

State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr MA Muhit on Tuesday said no form of wrongdoing, including the sale and consumption of drugs and gambling, would be tolerated.

Warning drug dealers, he directed the local administration and police to follow a zero-tolerance policy against drug-related activities.

“Many criminals have already been brought to justice, and operations will continue to maintain the law-and-order situation at a better level than ever before,” the state minister said, reports BSS.

Dr Muhit made the remarks as the chief guest at a programme in Shahjadpur Upazila in the district this afternoon, said a press release.

At the event, he distributed 140 bundles of corrugated iron sheets and cash assistance among 70 families affected by river erosion in Sanatani Union during the recent floods.
