Nicolas Cage, Antonio Banderas to lead ‘True Detective’ season 5

Hollywood actors Nicolas Cage and Antonio Banderas are set to headline the fifth season of HBO’s acclaimed crime anthology series ‘True Detective’, with
production scheduled to begin in 2027.

HBO confirmed the casting  announcement on social media, revealing that the two actors would lead the upcoming instalment.

The new season will introduce a fresh investigation, new characters and a different setting, continuing the series’ tradition of exploring standalone crime stories.

According to Variety, Cage will play Henry Logan, while Banderas will portray Rai García.

The fifth season will be set in Jamaica Bay, New York. HBO has yet to disclose further details about the characters or the central mystery.
