Litton Das ruled out of tri-nation series
On Friday, Litton Das posed for a photograph alongside the trophy, standing next to Zimbabwe Captain Sikandar Raza and Afghanistan Captain Rahmat Shah. He even took part in a pre-series press conference as a Captain.
But Litton Das was not playing in the opening match of the tri-nation series in the United Arab Emirates. Vice-Captain Towhid Hridoy was leading the team in his place against Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi.
Litton has been ruled out of the tri-nation series due to an injury.
At the time of the toss, Vice-Captain Towhid Hridoy was the first to reveal, Litton would not be playing the match due to an injury.
Shortly after, even worse news arrived: in a video message shared by the BCB, national team physio Bayezidul Islam stated, owing to his injury, Litton would be unable to play in the entire series.
Bayezid said, “Litton reported discomfort in his right hip joint yesterday.
An MRI was subsequently conducted, which revealed some issues. He attempted a fitness test today but failed to meet the required benchmark.”
Only Litton’s injury is a new development; Bangladesh has already been dealing with issues related to illness. Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been suffering from a fever for the past three days and has been unable to train for the last two.
