Sonali Bank services to remain suspended for 48hrs

All banking services of Sonali Bank PLC will remain suspended for 48 hours from midnight today (15 October) due to an upgrade of its core banking system (CBS).

Bangladesh Bank approved the scheduled downtime through a circular issued on Wednesday.
According to the circular, the shutdown is intended to facilitate an upgrade of the database used by Sonali Bank’s Intellect CBS 10.00 software from Oracle 11g to Oracle 19c.

The scheduled downtime will begin at midnight tomorrow and continue until 11:59pm on Saturday (17 October). During this period, all banking operations and services of Sonali Bank will remain unavailable.

The circular said normal banking operations and other services are expected to resume after the scheduled downtime ends on Saturday, provided no technical complications arise.

Bangladesh Bank approved on the condition that Sonali Bank carry out adequate publicity to keep customers informed about the service suspension.
