Obituary
The first death anniversary of Hazrat Shah Jahangir Tajul Arefin Moulana Muhammad Areful Hai QSA, fourth Sajjadah Nashin of Mirzakhil Darbar Sharif, will be observed on 14 October in Chattogram.
The occasion will recall a life distinguished by spiritual teaching, public welfare and the quiet strengthening of community ties.
Moulana Muhammad Areful Hai presented religious consciousness as a call to noble conduct: to listen patiently, assist the vulnerable, show compassion to neighbours and build bridges across social differences. For many, the Darbar became a place where worship, learning and concern for ordinary people met. His excellence lay in translating spiritual leadership into a practical commitment to society.
He encouraged education, moral formation, humanitarian support and a culture of shared responsibility. He viewed development not simply as material progress, but as the growth of honest, compassionate and capable people who could strengthen their families, livelihoods and communities.
The Darbar’s historical tradition has fostered learning, charitable support and ethical guidance, reflecting the conviction that a peaceful society depends on inner discipline as well as responsible action.
Under his leadership, this tradition continued to inspire service, social harmony and constructive community engagement.
Dr. Moulana Muhammad Maksudur Rahman, the current Sajjadah Nashin, carries forward that inheritance through programmes linked to education, research, Qur’anic learning and humanitarian service.
The observance will be marked by prayers and respectful remembrance.
Its message speaks to every community: human dignity, mutual care, ethical responsibility and peace are enduring duties.
