Youth urged to become entrepreneurs
Prime Minister’s Adviser on Public Administration Md Ismail Zabiullah has urged young people to pursue entrepreneurship rather than depend solely on job opportunities, assuring them of government support for their business initiatives.
“If young people take the initiative to establish themselves as entrepreneurs, the government will stand by them and continue to provide necessary support,” he said.
Zabiullah, a member of the BNP’s National Standing Committee, made the remarks as the chief guest at a ceremony honouring meritorious students and distinguished personalities organised by the Greater Noakhali Welfare Association at the BIAM Foundation auditorium in Dhaka on Friday.
Addressing the students, he stressed the importance of dreaming big, working hard and learning from failure. However, he said, becoming a good human being was more important than academic achievements alone.
He urged the students not to consider their current achievements the end of their journey, but to use them as a foundation for future progress.
He expressed hope that the region would produce future poets, writers, scientists, teachers, doctors, engineers, administrators and successful entrepreneurs.
The adviser also highlighted Greater Noakhali’s challenges, including floods, river erosion, waterlogging and difficulties related to employment, education and healthcare.
He said the region’s potential could be better realised if successful people at home and abroad shared their knowledge, experience and resources with the younger generation.
He said meaningful change begins with fulfilling responsibilities towards family, society and one’s locality.
Supporting one’s roots, he added, should not be viewed as narrow regionalism, as local development can contribute to national progress.
Zabiullah urged the students to remember their families, teachers and communities regardless of how successful they became.
He expressed hope for a Greater Noakhali where financial hardship would not prevent talented students from pursuing their dreams, unemployment would not waste young people’s potential and families would not feel helpless during crises.
Speaking as a special guest, State Minister for Planning Junaid Abdur Rahim Saki stressed the need to develop skilled and humane citizens for national progress.
