Air Chief opens 1st Division Hockey League

Chief of Air Staff and Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) President Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan formally inaugurated the First Division Hockey League began at Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in the capital on Saturday.
The BHF President expressed optimism about the regular organisation of domestic hockey leagues and thanked the government for taking timely initiatives to advance the country’s sports sector.
He also called upon hockey clubs and sponsors to come forward to ensure the continuity of domestic competitions.
Emphasising fair play and discipline, the Air Chief urged players to uphold sporting values and formally declared the league open.
Players and hockey enthusiasts expressed excitement as domestic league action returned to the field after a lengthy hiatus.
Senior officials of Bangladesh Air Force, BHF officials, club representatives and players were present at the opening ceremony.
A total of 11 clubs are participating in the competition. The participating clubs are Wari Club, Hockey Dhaka United, PWD SC, Combined SC, Mukta Bihanga Tarun Sangha, Bachelors SC, Farashganj SC, Shishu Kishore Sangha, Dhaka Wanderers, Rayer Bazar SC and Dhaka Young Star Club.
