62 new cases in Kishoreganj

Dengue hospitalisations have seen a sudden rise in Kishoreganj in October. At least 62 patients were admitted to different hospitals in the district with dengue in the 24 hours until 4:15pm on Saturday.

According to the Kishoreganj Civil Surgeon’s Office, the latest admissions have taken the total number of dengue cases identified in the district this year to 2,006. Currently, 156 patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the district. However, no dengue-related deaths have been reported so far this year.

Meanwhile, 59 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours. Since the beginning of this year, a total of 1,880 patients have been discharged after recovering from the disease.

According to sources at the Civil Surgeon’s Office, the highest number of patients is currently receiving treatment at Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital, where 46 people are admitted.

Besides, 44 patients are undergoing treatment at Bhairab Upazila Health Complex, 11 at Kishoreganj 250-bed General Hospital, 11 at Zahurul Islam Medical College Hospital and six at President Abdul Hamid Medical College Hospital.
