Feni ice cream factory fined Tk 1.5 lakh
A mobile court has fined Feni’s Dolphy Ice Cream factory Tk 1.5 lakh for producing and storing ice cream in an unhygienic environment, using unauthorised chemical colors and failing to follow hygiene rules for food workers.
The operation was conducted by the Feni District Administration and the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority at the Dolphy Ice Cream and Sony Ice Cream factories in Feni Sadar Upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
The operation was led by Feni Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Fahmida Akhter.
Feni Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Fahmida Akhter confirmed the information about the drive and said such drives would continue to prevent food adulteration.
Mobile court sources said that during the operation, the Dolphy Ice Cream factory was found producing and storing food in an unhygienic environment, using unauthorized chemical colors and failing to follow the necessary hygiene rules under the Food Safety Act, 2013.
