Rashed Ali DSF President, Humayun Kabir Gen Secy

A new committee has been formed by Dhaka Journalists Forum (DSF), a traditional organization of locals in Dhaka. Rashed Ali, executive director of Rajdhani Television, has been elected as the president of the organization, and Md. Humayun Kabir, special correspondent of Daily Kalbela, has been elected as the general secretary.

The biennial general meeting and new committee formation were held at the capital’s Dhaka Club on Friday. A full committee of 21 members was formed for the next two years, 2026-28.

The names of the elected members were announced by renowned poet, children’s writer and Dainik Agamir Shomir Director-Club and Welfare Saiduzzaman Rawshan (Dantyos Rawshan).

The new committee includes NTV’s Zahid Rahman as senior vice president, Dainik Sangram’s AKM Kamruzzaman (Hiru) as vice president, Manabzamin’s Rashim Mollah as senior joint general secretary, Manabzamin’s joint general secretary Masud Rana as joint general secretary, Pressenza International Press Agency’s Maqsuda Lisa as finance secretary, The Business Standard’s Md. Rashed Nizam as organizing secretary, Ekushey Television’s Afsana Jahan Nila as office secretary, Saptahik Safkathar’s Md. Mahmudur Rashid as publicity and publication secretary,

NTV’s Yasir Arafat (Kushal) as sports editor and cultural editor, News Twenty Four Television’s Al Mohaiminul Khan as information technology affairs editor, Ajker Dainik’s Md. Abul Kashem as training and research editor, Channel S’s Mithun Sarkar as law and welfare editor, and The Business File’s Syeda Rimi Kabita as women’s affairs editor.

Besides, Mohammad Nasir Uddin (Liton) of BSS, Shahriar Zaman Deep of Now TV, Delwar Hossain Badal of Banglanews24.com, Md. Khorshed Alam Jewel of Agrinews24.com, Homayra Mahmuda Farooqui of DBC Television and Anwar Hossain Pintu of Dainik Manabzamin have been elected as executive members.

At the general meeting, some changes to the DSF constitution were recommended and passed.

At the biennial general meeting, speakers called on the Dhaka Journalists Forum to play an effective role in highlighting Dhaka’s heritage and making Dhaka livable for all.
