‘Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest’ to be released in 2029

The world of Westeros is heading to the big screen for the first time, with ‘Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest’ scheduled to arrive in cinemas in 2029.

Warner Bros has set the film’s theatrical release for June 6, 2029, with Owen Harris, attached to direct. Beau Willimon is penning the screenplay.

Plot details remain under wraps, although the film is expected to centre on Aegon I Targaryen, better known as Aegon the Conqueror.

Set roughly 300 years before the events of the original ‘Game of Thrones’, the story will explore Aegon’s campaign to conquer and unite the Seven Kingdoms, establishing the Targaryen dynasty in Westeros.

Aegon has yet to be portrayed in a live-action production, and no casting has been announced for the role.
