PKSF, ERF sign deal to promote evidence-based journalism

Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and the Economic Reporters’ Forum (ERF) have signed an agreement to promote evidence-based and analytical journalism on Bangladesh’s economic and development issues, facilitate knowledge exchange and strengthen journalists’ professional skills.

PKSF Senior General Manager Dr AKM Nuruzzaman and ERF General Secretary Abul Kashem signed the memorandum of understanding on Wednesday at PKSF Bhaban-1, according to the press release.
PKSF Chairman Zakir Ahmed Khan, Managing Director Md Fazlul Kader, ERF President Doulat Akter Mala and other representatives of both institutions attended the ceremony.

Under the agreement, the organisations will jointly arrange training programmes, workshops and orientation sessions to enhance ERF members’ knowledge and professional skills.

The sessions will cover development issues including sustainable livelihoods, social protection, climate resilience and inclusive development.

The partnership will also facilitate greater access to information on PKSF’s programmes, research, studies, innovations and publications. This will create opportunities for journalists to exchange knowledge and gain deeper insights into development initiatives and emerging issues.

PKSF and ERF will also organise media visits to selected PKSF programmes and field-level interventions.

The visits will give ERF members first-hand exposure to development initiatives, people’s livelihoods and grassroots economic activities, supporting more informed, field-based reporting on Bangladesh’s development landscape.
