DBBL, BB host Bangla QR prog at BAU

Bangladesh Bank governor Md Mostaqur Rahman is present as chief guest atteneds a programme on Bangla QR, organised by the central bank and Dutch-Bangla Bank, at Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh on Saturday.

To support Cashless Bangladesh initiative, a ‘Meet the Governor’ programme on Bangla QR was held for teachers, students, officers and staff of the Bangladesh Agricultural University at its premises in Mymensingh on Saturday, said a press release.

The programme was organised by the Bangladesh Bank in association with Dutch-Bangla Bank.
BB governor Md Mostaqur Rahman attended as chief guest.

During the event, an interactive discussion was held among the governor, teachers and students on various aspects of Bangla QR.

BAU vice-chancellor (in-charge) GM Mujibar Rahman and Dutch-Bangla Bank managing director and chief executive officer Md Ahteshamul Haque Khan were present as special guests.

Md Mostaqur Rahman highlighted the importance of Bangla QR in promoting secure, convenient, and interoperable digital payments through a single QR code across all banks, mobile financial services and other payment service providers.

He said that Bangla QR is playing a vital role in advancing a cashless economy.
