BD beat Indonesia

The Bangladesh men’s hockey team defeated Indonesia men’s hockey team by three goals to one in their Pool-A match of the men’s hockey competition at the 20th Asian Games at the Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium in Japan on Saturday.

Delivering a stellar performance in the Pool-A match, the red-and-green secured their second consecutive victory.

The Bangladesh men’s hockey team’s penalty corner specialist, Amirul Islam, put his team ahead in the 11th minute.

Amirul then scored his second goal in the 31st minute to give his team the lead. Finally, in the 37th minute, Rashel Mahmud Jimmy scored a brilliant field goal.

Indonesia men’s hockey team’s Ardh Aulia reduced the margin by a penalty stroke in the 48th minute of the game.

It was the Bangladesh hockey team’s second win at the ongoing Asian Games. In their previous match, Bangladesh men’s hockey team defeated Sri Lanka men’s hockey team by a commanding 5-1 margin.

Earlier, the Bangladesh men’s hockey team lost to strong South Korea men’s hockey team 5-0 and conceded a 6-1 defeat to hosts Japan men’s hockey team in their opening match.

Bangladesh will face a formidable Indian team in their final group stage match on September 28.
