Trust Bank’s Kafrul branch converts into Islamic banking

Trust Bank PLC has converted its Kafrul Branch into a full-fledged Islamic banking branch, renamed Kafrul Islamic Banking Branch, as part of its efforts to expand access to Shariah-compliant banking services.

The branch was formally inaugurated recently at a ceremony in Kafrul by Trust Bank PLC Chairman and Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, SBP, OSP, SGP, psc, who attended as the chief guest, according to the press release.

Trust Bank PLC Vice-Chairman and Bangladesh Army Adjutant General Major General Mohd Hossain Al Morshed, ndc, afwc, psc; Trust Bank PLC Managing Director and CEO Ahsan Zaman Chowdhury; members of the bank’s Board of Directors; senior management and officials; and other guests attended the ceremony.

As a full-fledged Islamic banking branch, Kafrul Islamic Banking Branch will offer customers a range of Shariah-compliant deposit and investment products alongside modern banking services.

Trust Bank said its Islamic banking operations are conducted in accordance with Shariah principles and applicable Bangladesh Bank guidelines.

The conversion of the Kafrul Branch into a full-fledged Islamic banking branch marks another step in Trust Bank’s efforts to expand its Islamic banking footprint and provide customers with accessible and Shariah-compliant financial services.

Through Kafrul Islamic Banking Branch, the bank aims to further strengthen the availability of Islamic banking services for customers in Kafrul and surrounding areas while continuing its focus on financial inclusion and modern banking services.
