Imran, former Mechanix guitarist, dies of cancer

Former guitarist and ‘Mechanix’ co-founder Syed Imran Ahmed has passed away after battling cancer for past one and a half years. He was 41.’Mechanix’ debuted in 2005.

The band has played an important role in practice of heavy metal music in the country.

Imran formed band along with Aftabuzzaman Tridib. However, he left the band in 2008.

Despite leaving the band, Imran maintained a friendly relationship with members of ‘Mechanix’.

After he was diagnosed with cancer, ‘Mechanix’ also organised a concert to raise funds for his treatment.
