Abid Hossain; Nurun Naher joins BDB as Director

Md. Abid Hossain Khan, FCA, FFA, FIPA a fellow senior chartered accountant and Retired Senior District and Sessions Judge Nurun Naher Osmani a distinguished former member of the Bangladesh Judicial Service joined Bangladesh Development Bank PLC. as Directors of the Board.

The Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance recently appointed them by issuing a circular.

Md. Abid Hossain Khan, FCA is a seasoned finance professional and Fellow Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years of post-qualification experience in financial management, controllership, financial planning and analysis, taxation, treasury, business performance management and corporate governance. Throughout his career, Mr. Khan has held senior finance and leadership positions at leading organisations,including Grameenphone, Banglalink.

STS Group and DSE. He has a good number of publication on fiscaland tax policy. His numerous publications on fiscal and tax policy have appeared widely across academic journals and mainstream daily newspapers.

Nurun Naher Osmani has obtained her LL.B. (Honours) and LL.M. degrees from the University of Dhaka in 1981 and 1983 respectively. She joined the Bangladesh Judicial Service in 1983 and, after serving in judicial positions for 33 years, retired in 2016 as a Senior District and Sessions Judge. In her final judicial position, she served as a Member of the Labour Appellate Tribunal.

Subsequently, she served as a Member of the National Human Rights Commission, Bangladesh, from 2016 to 2019. In addition, Osmani served as President of the Bangladesh Women Judge Association from 2013 to 2015.
