‘I was skeptical about becoming a mother after seeing country’s healthcare system,’ Sohini Sarkar

She once asked, “In which country will I become a mother?” Sohini Sarkar was afraid of motherhood, doubting the country’s infrastructure and healthcare system.

Yet, that same Sohini is now seven-month pregnant, counting the days waiting for her little guest.

Sohini said that she always wanted to become a mother. However, she used to be afraid of the situation in the country.

Now that thought has changed a lot. In Sohini’s words, “Now I feel like I can handle it.” Sohini and Shovan got married in a private ceremony on July 15, 2024.

And on their second wedding anniversary, they announced that a new guest was coming into their lives.

Now, after finishing work and shooting, Sohini is spending her time at home resting.

Her days are spent sleeping, watching movies and web series, and thinking about her unborn child.

Sohini also criticised the societal tendency to view pregnancy
as an illness.
