BCIC chairman visits Jamuna fertiliser factory

Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) Chairman Dr Md Saifur Rahman visited Jamuna Fertiliser Company Ltd in Tarakanda, Jamalpur recently.

During the visit, he reviewed the condition of various plants and equipment, progress in reopening the factory, and overall activities including fertiliser supply and distribution from the warehouse.

He also held a meeting with the factory management to discuss its operations and reopening progress.

Later, the BCIC chairman visited the warehouses and sales centres of local fertiliser dealers M/s Rana Enterprise and M/s Chan Mia Traders at Jagannathganj Ghat in Sarishabari, Jamalpur on September 5.

He enquired about fertiliser stocks, sales to farmers, any shortages and documents related to selling fertiliser at government-fixed prices.

After discussions with the dealers and reviewing the overall stock situation, Dr Saifur Rahman confirmed that there was no shortage of fertiliser in the area.
