58 banned AL activists detained in Kishoreganj

Police detained at least 58 leaders and activists of the Awami League (AL), whose activities have been banned, during special drives conducted in different areas of Kishoreganj over the last three days, according to a press release issued by the office of the police superintendent on Sunday.

The release said that in the last 24 hours, 29 people involved in various activities under the Anti-Terrorism Act and associated with the banned organisation were arrested in different areas of the district. Another 29 people were arrested during operations over the previous two days.

Thus, a total of 58 people were arrested during the three-day drives. All of them are reportedly leaders and activists of the Awami League and its various organs and associate organisations.
