Janata Bank, DSCC sign deal to improve services

Janata Bank PLC and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) signed a memorandum of understanding today to facilitate banking services for citizens and support the collection of city corporation taxes and fees.

Janata Bank Managing Director Md Mojibur Rahman and DSCC Administrator Md Abdus Salam, a freedom fighter, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations on Wednesday, according to a press release.

A discussion on banking services followed at the city corporation’s conference room. Speaking at the meeting, Mojibur pledged to take the necessary measures to provide mobile banking services to businesses, contractors and citizens receiving services from DSCC.

He outlined plans to support the collection of holding tax, trade licence fees, birth and death registration fees and other revenue, alongside services involving salary management software.

Janata Bank ICT Division General Manager Mohammad Anis, Dhaka South Divisional Office General Manager Ruhia Akhtar and Business Development Department Deputy General Manager Mohammad Riaz Hossain Ferdous attended the meeting, along with senior DSCC executives.
