Dhaka hosts Int’l Textile Expos
A four-day international textile exhibition, featuring the latest technologies, machinery, yarn, fabrics, accessories, dyes and chemicals for the textile and ready-made garment industries, began at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal on Wednesday.
Organised by CEMS-Global USA, the event brings together three major exhibitions under its “Textile Series of Exhibitions”: the 25th Textech Bangladesh 2026 International Expo, the 26th Dhaka International Yarn & Fabric Show 2026-Summer Edition, and the 53rd Dye+Chem Bangladesh 2026 International Expo.
The exhibitions will remain open from 10:00am to 7:00pm every day until September 5.
Around 1,475 companies from 37 countries are participating in this year’s event, with more than 2,245 booths and pavilions set up, organisers said.
More than 16,000 trade visitors are expected to attend.
At the opening ceremony, CEMS-Global USA and Asia Pacific President and Group Managing Director Meherun N Islam said the three exhibitions have emerged as important international business platforms for Bangladesh’s textile and garment industries.
The exhibitions are providing local and international buyers and suppliers with opportunities for direct business engagement, she said.
“Business people will no longer need to travel abroad as frequently in search of buyers,” Meherun said, adding that bringing buyers, sellers and suppliers together at a single venue will save time, money and effort.
Over the past 25 years, Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industries have made significant progress in technology adoption, production systems, productivity, compliance with international standards and sustainable manufacturing, organisers said.
Reflecting this progress, the exhibitions are placing particular emphasis on modern technology and innovation, with solutions in automation, artificial intelligence (AI), digital manufacturing and data-driven production being showcased.
A dedicated “Digital Transformation Zone” has been set up at Hall B, featuring technologies related to AI and automation, enterprise resource planning (ERP), smart factories, Internet of Things (IoT), Industry 4.0, data analytics, cloud computing, cyber security, sustainable manufacturing and traceability.
Five seminars will also be held during the four-day event, focusing on innovation and sustainability in the textile and apparel sectors, wastewater management, Bangladesh-India trade and supply chains, changes in industrial architecture, and workforce development in the age of artificial intelligence.
The exhibitions are bringing together manufacturers, factory owners, production managers, merchandisers, sourcing officials, buying-house representatives, engineers, designers, importers and suppliers from home and abroad.
Organisers said the event will create opportunities for businesses to source new technologies and raw materials, establish new commercial contacts and develop international partnerships.
