Blake Lively wins $400,000 in legal battle against Baldoni

A new ruling has been reached in case between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni,
the two main stars of the movie ‘It Ends With Us’, one of Hollywood’s most talked-about legal disputes.

A US court has ordered Blake Lively to pay just $47,451, compared to the $8 million her lawyers were seeking in a defamation lawsuit filed by Baldoni.

New York District Judge Lewis Lyman recently announced the ruling. The incident began on the set of the 2024 film ‘It Ends With Us’.

The film’s lead actress, Blake Lively, filed a lawsuit against her co-star and director, Justin Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment and professional retaliation.

In response, Baldoni filed a counter-suit against Lively, claiming that he had been defamed.

However, when the court dismissed Baldoni’s defamation claim in 2025, Lively claimed that she had spent $8 million fighting this unfair lawsuit, which Baldoni would have to bear.

Judge Lewis Lyman criticised Lively’s claim, saying that Lively’s team had demanded far more than the number of lawyers and time needed to defend a single defamation case.

The judge called it a ‘sloppy’ calculation and ordered her to pay only $400,000 instead of the full $8 million.
