Suchona Shely to participate in ‘World Nomad Games’ in Kyrgyzstan

The long journey of Suchona Shely, who started with folk songs, has been
performing the tunes of Bengali folk traditions on various international stages across the country.

This time, she is going to participate in the famous ‘World Nomad Games’ in Kyrgyzstan.

This is a very popular event in Kyrgyzstan where sports and cultures from different countries of Asia come together. This festival is mainly held to celebrate the traditions of the nomadic people.

The sixth edition of the festival will start on September 1 and will continue until September 6.

Suchona Shely will participate in the folk song competition as part of the cultural programme of these games.

She will be accompanied by her band ‘Divya Gyani’. They will showcase the unique melodies, traditions and mystical philosophy of Bangladeshi folk music.

In this context, Suchona Shely said, “Bangladeshi folk music is not only a part of our culture, but also has a long tradition of our people’s life, philosophy, self-exploration and humanity.

It is both a joy and a pride for me to be able to present those songs and philosophy to the people of the world on an international stage.

We will try to highlight the soil of Bengal, the life of the people, the humanistic philosophy of nurturing and the diversity of Bengal’s mystical music in our performances.

In addition to doing well in the competition, our main goal is to convey the uniqueness of Bangladesh’s folk music to the people of the world.”

Earlier, Suchona Shely participated in an international cultural competition held in Kyrgyzstan in 2025 and won second place among competitors from more than a hundred countries.
