Mushfiq wants to return with good memories

Mushfiqur Rahim has been playing for Bangladesh for two decades. Although he has retired from white-ball cricket, he continues to play the red-ball format.

This star cricketer has witnessed every major Test victory achieved by the country. The Bangladesh team has won the first Test of the ongoing series against Australia, and Mushfiq is part of the squad for this series as well.

Mushfiq wants to return from Test cricket with fond memories. “If I can take something away from this journey with the Bangladesh red-ball team, that in it will be a cherished memory for me,” He said.

“We have won big matches before. But sustaining success and delivering such performances consistently is what matters most.

There is no end to improvement-the sky is the limit. So, celebrate this victory and enjoy the moment; but immediately after, you must think about how to replicate this kind of performance.” Speaking about the hard work, Mushfiq said, “There are no shortcuts to this.

You have to put in the hard work and stay committed day in and day out. You can now grasp the intensity of the grueling effort required-both on and off the field-over the course of three and a half to four days in Test cricket. That is the nature of the format.

Beyond just winning or losing, what truly matters is the daily work ethic and mindset. You must focus on the process; if the process is right, the results will eventually follow.”

“I would like to mention something regarding Mominul. During that major victory at Mount Maunganui, our plan was very simple: we had to win every session. We effectively broke the entire match down into smaller segments, much like an ODI. Our goal was to claim at least two and if possible, all three of the day’s three sessions.”
