Mohammedan complete players’ registration

Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited completed their players’ registration at Bangladesh Football Federation House on Thursday.

It was previously announced that the traditional Mohammedan Sporting Club will make a grand change of team in domestic football this time. The impression of that arrangement was also visible in their club premises.

In the presence of players, officials and supporters, the white and black teams arrived at the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) in a festive atmosphere, accompanied by horse-drawn carriages and the beat of drums and musical instruments.

This time, Mohammedan have formed a stronger team compared to the previous season.

The traditional club of Motijheel recruited seven players from Bashundhara Kings. National team goalkeeper Anisur Rahman Zico joined the list on Thursday afternoon.

At a ceremony held at the club premises before the team registration, Zico said, “It feels really good to be at Mohammedan Club.

I was supposed to play at this club a long time ago, when I was playing in the Under-19 team. But I didn’t come because I was at Bashundhara Kings at that time.

This time, I have been talking to Babu (Amirul Islam) Bhai from the beginning. The first contract was supposed to be with me. Unfortunately, I couldn’t sign it at the beginning.”

Regarding Mohammedan’s tradition, Zico also said, “Mohammedan is a traditional club. If everyone can play together on the field, I hope something good will happen.

We want to prove ourselves on the field and maintain Mohammedan’s tradition. Everyone will pray for us.”

Mohammedan have picked up four goalkeepers in their squad. They are: Sujon Hossain, Ahsan Habib Bipu, Ismail Hossain Mahin and Anisur Rahman Zico.
The black-and-white outfit have recruited 10 defenders.

They are: Rahmat Mia, Saaduddin, Shakil Ahad Topu, Jahid Hasan Shanto, Ismail Hossain, Azizul Haque Ananto, Nigerian Emmanuel Tony Agbaji, Rimon Hossain, Shahin Ahammad and Hafizur Rahman Babu.

Mohammedan Sporting Club have roped in 14 midfielders in their squad.

They are: Sohel Rana, Minhajul Abedin Ballu, Mehedi Hasan Royal, Rahim Uddin, Jewel Mia, Raju Ahmed, Mojibur Rahman Jony, Safiul Hossain, Amir Hakim Bappy, Kamal Mridha, Mehedi Hasan, Arif Hossain, Uzbek Muzaffar Muzaffarov and Shahriar Emon.
The popular Motijheel-based outfit have brought five forwards.

They are; Malian Souleymane Diabate, Sourav Dewan, Nigerian Emmanuel Sunday, Foysal Ahmed Fahim and Joy Ahmed.
