6 Bhairab restaurants fined

A mobile court in Bhairab has fined six restaurants a total of Tk 275,000 for selling food contaminated with artificial colours and serving rotten and stale food.

The operation was conducted at the food zone of Nodi Bangla Center Point in Bhairab town on Sunday afternoon.

Kishorganj correspondent said a mobile court conducted the raid at six restaurants in the Nodi Bangla Center following a tip-off that they were selling food adulterated with artificial colours and serving rotten and stale food.

During the drive, US Bangla Restaurant owner Shariful Islam was fined Tk 25,000, Osan Bite Restaurant owner Durjoy Mia Tk 50,000, Chhota Mama Restaurant owner Masud Mia Tk 50,000, Narsingdi Food Zone manager Mohsin Tk 50,000, Crespi Restaurant owner Azizul Tk 50,000 and Narsingdi Kebab manager Apu Talukder Tk 50,000.

Bhairab Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) AHM Azimul Haque said the administration had received multiple complaints against the six restaurants at Nodi Bangla Center Point for selling rotten, stale and artificially coloured food.
