PM writes to Qatar Amir inviting investment in BD
Prime Minister Tareq Rahman has urged the Amir of Qatar to increase investment in Bangladesh. To this end, Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman handed over a letter written by the Prime Minister to the Emir of Qatar.
On Friday (July 24), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Foreign Minister held a bilateral meeting with Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, on the sidelines of the event marking the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) in Manila, the Philippines.
The meeting covered various aspects of strengthening bilateral relations, trade, investment, and mutual cooperation between Bangladesh and Qatar. They also exchanged views on various issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister handed over a letter from the Prime Minister addressed to the Emir of Qatar to Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. The letter called for increased Qatari investment in Bangladesh.
