2,719 cases filed against traffic violators in Dhaka
The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 2,719 cases against traffic law violators during drives conducted across different areas of the capital.
According to the DMP Media and Public Relations Division, police also dumped 587 vehicles and towed away 328 others during the operations.
The Motijheel Traffic Division filed the highest number of cases with 456, followed by Uttara with 449, Mirpur with 397, Tejgaon with 390, Gulshan with 347, Wari with 299, Lalbagh with 200 and Ramna with 181.
The DMP said the drives were conducted in different parts of Dhaka on Tuesday (July 21) as part of efforts to maintain traffic discipline in the metropolitan area.
The Traffic Division will continue such enforcement operations to ensure compliance with traffic laws, it added.
