Licenses of 49 agencies cancelled for anomalies
The government has cancelled the licenses of 49 recruiting agencies on charges of irregularities in sending workers abroad, violation of license conditions, and breaches of laws related to overseas employment. This decision, issued by the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, has come into effect immediately.
The ministry issued a notification regarding this matter on Sunday (July 19).
The notification states that allegations have been received against the agencies whose licenses were revoked regarding the violation of terms and conditions of their recruiting agency approval and license, as well as breaches of the Overseas Employment and Migrants Act, 2013, the Overseas Employment and Migrants (Amendment) Act, 2023, and other relevant laws.
Furthermore, charge sheets have been filed in court against several entities under various sections of the Penal Code, 1860. Taking these matters into consideration, their licenses have been revoked in accordance with Section 13 of the Overseas Employment and Migrants Act, 2013.
The ministry stated that the agencies whose licenses have been cancelled include Unique Eastern (Pvt.) Ltd., Orbitals Enterprise, Shaheen Travels, Irving Enterprise, Haidari Trade International, Rabbi International, Zahrat Associates, Four Sight International Ltd., Binimoy International, Akash Bhraman Ltd., and Q.K. Quick Express Ltd., United Export Limited, GMG Trading (Pvt.) Limited, Sadia International, The Super Eastern Limited, Elegants Overseas Limited, Catharsis International, Midway Overseas Limited, Madina Overseas, Al-Khamis International, New Age International, Dahmashi Corporation Limited, Galaxy Corporation, Sultan Overseas, Prabhati International, Manispower Corporation, Amin Tours and Travels, Ahmed International, ISMT Human Resource Development Limited, Darbar Global Overseas,
Natasha Overseas, Aparajita Overseas, Five M International Limited, Stanford Employment Private Limited, Jannat Overseas, BM Travels Limited, BNS Overseas Limited, Rubel Bangladesh Limited, Orbitals International, Trans Asia Integrated Services Limited, Al Farah Human Resources and Consultancy, Snigdha Overseas Limited, Brothers International, Thanex International Limited, GG Alfalah Management, Imperial Resources Limited, P.R. Overseas Limited, MEF Global Bangladesh Limited, and Ananya Apurba Recruiting Agency.
The ministry has stated that legal action will continue to be taken against agencies involved in irregularities, in order to ensure discipline in the overseas employment sector and safeguard the interests of job seekers.
