Army Chief leaves for Turkiye

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman left Dhaka on Sunday for a five-day official visit to Türkiye at the invitation of the Turkish government.

During the visit, he will inspect several defence industry establishments in Türkiye, the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate said in a statement.

The Army chief is also scheduled to hold meetings and exchange views with senior officials of the Turkish Armed Forces and leading representatives of the country’s defence sector.

The visit is expected to contribute to strengthening bilateral defence cooperation between Bangladesh and Türkiye, the statement added.
