Citizens Bank, Desco sign electricity bill collection deal

Citizens Bank PLC and Dhaka Electricity Supply PLC have entered into a strategic partnership to enable electricity bill collection through Citizens Bank’s nationwide physical and digital banking channels.

Through this collaboration, Dhaka Electricity Supply PLC customers can now pay their electricity bills at any Citizens Bank branch, sub-branch, or via digital banking platforms across Bangladesh.

The agreement was formalised at the head office of Dhaka Electricity Supply PLC in Nikunja-2, Dhaka.

Deputy Managing Director Md Mostafizur Rahman of Citizens Bank PLC and Superintending Engineer and Company Secretary SM Shah Sultan of Dhaka Electricity Supply PLC signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

Managing Director Alamgir Hossain of Citizens Bank PLC and Managing Director Brigadier General Shameem Ahmed ndc psc (Retired) of Dhaka Electricity Supply PLC witnessed the signing.

Deputy Managing Director Md Abdul Latif of Citizens Bank PLC; Executive Director of Finance and Accounts AZM Sharjil Hasan, General Manager of Finance and Accounts Md Mominul Islam, and Deputy General Manager of Finance and Accounts Md Manhaj Uddin of Dhaka Electricity Supply PLC were also present.

Senior officials from both organisations were also in attendance.
The partnership is expected to enhance convenience, security and efficiency for customers of Dhaka Electricity Supply PLC when paying electricity bills.
