



Ishwardi Combined Citizens’ Alliance organised a human chain and submitted memorandums demanding that trains operating on the Pabna-Dhaka route make scheduled stops at Ishwardi Junction Railway Station.
The human chain was held in front of the office of the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Pakshi Railway Division on Thursday. Speaking at the event, the alliance’s Member Secretary, Ashikur Rahman Lulu, explained the objectives behind the protest.
Among those who addressed the gathering were Convener Mahbubur Rahman Palash, Ataur Rahman Pata, Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal leader Sohel Rana, Ishwardi Business Association Executive Member Selim, and other local leaders.
Following the human chain, a delegation submitted a memorandum addressed to the Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Railway through the Divisional Railway Manager.
The memorandum was received by Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Divisional Commercial Officer of the Pakshi Railway Division.
The leaders later submitted separate memorandums to the Railway Secretary through Ishwardi Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Hasan Mohammad Shoaib and to the relevant authorities through the Deputy Commissioner.
Local journalists, cultural activists, social workers, and representatives of civil society also attended the programme and expressed solidarity with the demand.
