Sanjoy to perform in Dhaka ahead of WC final

Bangladeshi-origin American musician and music director Sanjoy Deb, who drew global attention with his performance at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2026 during the Canada leg of the tournament, is set to perform in Dhaka ahead of the World Cup final.

Sanjoy earned widespread praise for proudly showcasing his Bangladeshi heritage on the international stage.

His maroon suit, adorned with motifs of the Royal Bengal Tiger, the water lily and the red-and-green colours
of the Bangladeshi flag, became a talking point among audiences worldwide.

Now, the Los Angeles-based EDM producer and DJ is preparing to entertain fans on home soil. He will perform on 19 July at Fan Fest 2.0, a six-day celebration organised at Kamal Ataturk Park in Banani to mark the FIFA World Cup semi-finals and final, said a press release.

On July 18, DJ Sunny will perform, while the festival’s final day will culminate with Sanjoy’s much-anticipated appearance ahead of the World Cup final, joined by DJ Jadu.

Born in Sreemangal, Bangladesh, Sanjoy was raised in the United States and is
currently based in Los Angeles.
